Imagine your avatar deep into the Second Life metaverse, exploring some Egyptian ruins, shopping with friends in a store or finding a new virtual build… Now imagine being able to share that information with the world- over the Web, in your own Research notes, with other Twitter users, and if they have SMS updates enabled- your discovery can go all the way to a person’s cell phone or PDA!

If you wish you can even get messages inside Second Life as well. The communication can work either / or both ways, and you can take it off anytime you like if you want the tranquility of a quiet metaverse or put it on for serious research or simply to communicate.

This is now possible with the free Sltweets HUD (Heads UP Display).

The scenario above, communicating from a virtual world to a cellphone, intrigued and motivated us to create the free research and communication HUD. There are a couple of others that exist, but they lacked the research-based features that we really wanted. For example, the ability to catalogue our finds, research and explore, geo tag, and share the information, on demand, with others who might have the same interests- or to not share it with everyone in the world.
